The need for bold change to reduce mass incarceration is apparent from the statistics and facts.

But changing the law cannot happen without changing how the public perceives people who are incarcerated. We must begin to tell the many powerful stories of people serving extreme sentences—stories of suffering, remorse, growth, and transformation.
